PikeRide Launches in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO - Colorado Springs is the latest city to bring bike share to its community, further enhancing transportation options for residents and the world-class experience for visitors. Downtown Ventures, the charitable nonprofit arm of Downtown Partnership launched PikeRide, the first public large-scale bike share system in Colorado Springs.

PikeRide launched on June 26^th with 208 bikes and 28 stations and serves residents and visitors alike with a coverage area of 12 square miles.   

"With the support of Kaiser Permanente and many other community-based sponsors, we are excited to bring this amazing opportunity to Colorado Springs and look forward to seeing it flourish in the years to come by providing a healthy, fun, cost-effective alternative option of mobility for getting around our great town," says Jolie Nesmith, PikeRide Executive Director. 

The PikeRide system brings the total number of communities with a BCycle system in the United States to 51. BCycle currently has more than 15,000 bikes on the ground and riders have taken over 16 million trips. PikeRide launched with BCycle Dash making it the third Dash program to launch this year and the first in Colorado. PikeRide is powered by title sponsor Kaiser Permanente.
